Workers’ Compensation

Group Rating Discount Program

Is your organization trying to find a way to reduce costs? Save money now by being reviewed for the Ohio Oil and Gas Association (OOGA) workers’ compensation group rating discount program. Workers’ compensation premiums can be costly in today’s economy and group rating is still one of the best options available to reduce that expense upfront.

If you explored our plan in the past, it’s time to take a second look. You owe it to yourself to explore the options and savings a membership entitles you to receive. If you participate in another group rating program, you may not be saving as much as possible and you may be paying extra dues to belong to another group.

If you are reviewing savings quotes from other group administrators, please make sure that you are comparing apples to apples. Our group administrator, CompManagement, Inc., takes great pride in the accuracy and consistency of our savings forecast, while others may tend to promote inflated savings figures in an effort to secure additional business. It should also be mentioned that not all group administrators offer the same level of service (not all service companies are capable of providing your organization with the full array of discount programs currently available as well as services related to claims management, cost containment, safety and loss control, rating and hearing representation).

Therefore, it is critical that you align yourself with a program that has a group administrator that is able to meet all of your current, as well as future needs. Please review other quotes thoroughly to ensure that you are comparing similar discounts and service offerings.

CompManagement is currently in the process of reviewing employers for our group discount program for the 2012 rate year. to receive a free, no obligation savings quote contact CompManagement’s Customer Support Unit at 1-800-825-6755, option 3, to request an analysis by phone. As a service to our members, CompManagement will not only evaluate your organization for participation in group rating, but all alternative rating programs that would be beneficial to your organization’s bottom line.

We urge you to take advantage of this tremendous member benefit.

BWC Group Rating training requirement for group rating members

The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation has undergone many changes affecting the group rating program you participate in through the Ohio Oil & Gas Association. Focusing on risk management through safety training, group rating participants with claims in the past two years must now complete two hours of safety training. If you have received a letter from either OOGA or CompManagement, Inc. stating that your company had a claim, you will find various classes available on this page to satisfy the training requirement.

If you have completed the training, you will need to report this to CompManagement, Inc. Please follow this link to complete a short questionnaire on the Risk Service website. You will also need to fax the required documentation to  1-866-567-9280.

Should you have any additional BWC questions, please contact Kristy Hawthorne, OOGA, (740) 587-0444, or CompManagement, Inc., at (614) 210-2619.
